My New Year's resolution was to get back into my Blog
It has been really slow but we did a lot over the holidays  We provided a free meal ,for anyone that wanted to attend, both on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I want to thank Mike and his crew for a great job. I want to thank Shelly and Ellen for a outstanding job on the decorations for the New Years EVE party. We had a great turn out and everyone had a great time. I don't believe I have ever seen that many people on the dance floor all night.
We still have Dinner and Karaoke on Wednesday nights,  We also have free lunch and Wham Bam Bingo on Thursday.  If you have never played Wham Bam it's "Stupid" but a lot of fun
The different segments of the Legion take turns fixing Dinner on Friday Night and Breakfast on Sunday morning.  We also do our" Queen of Hearts" game and AUX does their 50/50 draw at 7:00 pm  After a break for the holidays the "Open Mic" will resume this Sunday at 2:00pm  Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Believe it or not I am still alive, felt like crap for the last month. I thought I was over it but I think it's back today. We have had some great times over the last several weeks at the Post starting with a great New Years Party. Lots of food, great music and some beautiful decorations provided by Ellen and Shelly. We are back on track with our "Open Mic" on Sunday afternoons. The much needed rain has slowed the overall attendance at some of our events, but spring is just around the corner and we have a lot of events coming up. NASCAR will be starting in a couple of weeks. Everyone is looking forward to that. The bad thing is, our Big Screen TV is in the shop. I should be getting a price on the repair Monday.  We will be having a Valentines dance on Sat. the 11th D.J.ed by Randy. Sheriff Jeff arrested the Queen on Friday night and collected the reward of $3,600.00.  The Queen will be out on bail on March 3rd, I'm sure she will jump bail and the hunt will be back on with the "Reward" starting at $500.00
I would like everyone to say prayer for Christopher as we wait to hear the from the doctors.  A large nodule was removed from his neck this past Monday,(Feb. 6), and sent to Stanford for the diagnosis.

What a great Week. Our Labor Day "Fun" day was a great success. Thanks to Charlie, Roach, and Sherman the BBQ Chicken was fabulous. Thanks to Sherman for building the cage used in our Chicken Shit Bingo " extravaganza". I would also like to thank the two Chicken's that provided the necessary Sh*t to make the game fun. I also want to thank Jeff and the SAL for all their help. The profit from the dinner and the 50/50, by the way I won and it was not fixed, made us a little over $800.00, more than enough to install the new heater in the smoking area outside the back door. I want to thank all of the members from  other Posts that made this event a success. Go to" thecalifornian.com" for a great story complete with pictures. We have a lot coming up at the Post in the next couple weeks.  The Patriots will be having their Appreciation dinner on Saturday night. The public is invited to attend. I have been feeling under the weather for the last few days and have not gotten my butt in gear to write anything. This will be short and sweet. We had a great private party on the 9th. All party goers were very impressed with the hospitality the post showed them. The band "Retrospect" did a great job on the music Friday the 15th . On Saturday, the 16th, there was a celebration of life for Larry Mays. I must compliment the ALR on their very impressive Flag presentation to Annabelle.  Friday after the draw for the Queen, the reward will be $1,000.00  the band will be "Triple Creek". Saturday the ALR will be having their Summer Poker Run, BBQ and live music performed by "The McGuffy Road" band. This weeks NASCAR winners were Jeff 1st for $175.00 and 12 points,  Deli Bob 2nd $100.00 and 10 points added to his already lead. Remember every Wed. night is Karaoke complete with Dinner.  Sunday will be the NASCAR race early followed by "Open Mike "at 2pm

What a Great 4th of July, our BBQ exceeded our expectations. We gambled on 80 1/2 chickens, hoping not to have to eat chicken for the next week, but we could of sold at least 20 more. The music in the Gazebo was great, had a lot of dancers. The only thing I could see that would have made it better was some Sunshine.  We will be doing it again, stay tuned. I want to say thanks to all my help, Charlie, Roach, Sherman, Deli Bob & Gloria and especially Joyce. Also, I want to thank all the members that pitched in to help with the cleanup. It's all about working together. We made enough to purchase a new  stainless BBQ for the gazebo.  The private party on Saturday night went off without a hitch. The music was loud, but it didn't out due the NASCAR race being enjoyed in the Gazebo. Thanks to Mike and Mary for the Beans and Hot Dogs. The big Winner was " Jeanie" for $500.00 Jeff came in 2nd for $150.00. The winner on the $10.00 board was Jack for $175.00 and 12 points. Deli Bob still leads in overall points. ALR will be cooking Dinner Friday night followed by "McGuffy Road Band" The Queen draw will be at 7:00,Reward will be $800.00  Come down on Sunday, from 2:00 to 6:00 and enjoy the "Open Mike"

The weather could not of been nicer for the Car Show, had around 40 cars entered. The young band that played outside were great. The lead singer, a 14 year old girl, has a great future in store for her. The whole band was awesome. Uncle Dan and his Band had a hard act to follow but, as always put out some great music Had no NASCAR, looking forward to the road race in Sonoma this Sunday. Thanks to J.J. I  got onto my web page in one shot.  As you all know the "Queen" has been in jail for the last year. She was released last week, on probation.  And as of Friday night, May 27th, guess what-she has already jumped bail.  We will be issuing a $500 reward for her capture.  There will be changes in which the reward money will be disbursed.  Again 50% of the ticket sales will go to increase the bounty each week with the remainder 50% to be disbursed as follows: 30% to the Legion, 10% to the Sons of the Legion and the remaining 10% to the Auxiliary.

The Legion's first priority will be to buy a new barbeque pit for the gazebo area.

We are still having hot dogs at 1:00 p.m. on Mondays.  Tuesdays there is a pool tournament at 7:00 p.m.  Wednesday nights we have dinner at 6:00 p.m.   with Karaoke beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Thursday is free lunch and Wham Bam Bingo starting at 1:00 p.m.  Friday night dinner is at 6:00 with the "Queen" drawing promptly at 7:00 p.m. and a band following.  Sunday breakfast is 9-11 a.m. NASCAR @ 10;00 with Open Mike from 2-6 p.m.
