Well I feel this blog is going  to be short and sweet. Not much to talk about .
Thursdays are always fun.  The free lunch has grown to the point that Victor ran out of food. We keep getting more and more Wham-bam Bingo players. Friday nights Queen of Hearts game drew over 1oo people . Christy was the lucky sheriff and tried to capture the Queen. Her fast draw of  envelope # 32 reveled the 4 of Diamonds.  The big bad Queen got away again. Next week the whole posse will be gunning for her hoping to collect the reward which is increased to $6,000.00. Her partners in crime, the Jokers, are now worth $250.00. This coming Friday night, if we do not have a capture, we will reward a member of the posse, who is present,$50.00. Saturdays MIA-POW run was sum what hampered by rain showers. The ceremony it self was very nice. About the time the balloons, with the names of the Veterans attached, were released it  started to rain. I have posted in the Photo Gallery on the Web page some Photo's of the event along with a couple of pictures of " Oprah" Ellen's latest addition to her family. Sunday's NASCAR winners were Japanna for $125.00 and 12 points , Chet for second for $75.00 and 10 points. Jeanie and San Jose John won the $1.00 boards. Jeannie closed the gap on John and now is only trailing by 2 points We will be starting another Karaoke contest beginning on Oct.9th called the 3-2-1 contest  First place $300.00, 2nd $200.00, 3rd $100.00. We had another $400.00 plus winner this week on the Sweepstakes machines. All people with September birthday's come and celebrate with us on Saturday the 28th.  Taco's and Enchilatas 5 to7pm Music by Straight  Shot, a great Blues Band, 7 to midnight. Man I really dragged this out.  If you have time during the week come and see us.

Well I don't know where to start, it has been a very busy week. We started on Monday with the celebration of life for Jay's Grandson, who was killed in a auto accident. The day was filled with fond memories, good food and beautiful flowers. Tuesday was membership appreciate night that had a very poor attendance. Wednesday Commander Mike, Dan, Daniel, Koni, Joyce,Victor, Bob, Gloria and myself attended a class provided by the ABC to receive our server card. One thing that we learned was our 1/2 off Tuesday night is a violation of ABC rules so we have discontinued it. Thursday was free lunch and Wham-Bam Bingo. If you have yet to come and play with us you are missing a good time. Friday, besides Dinner, is our Queen of Hearts draw. The reward was $5100.00. The lucky hunter was Grenda and her choice of envelope's was #7. The 2 of heart made it's way out of the envelope and again no cigar. This weeks reward will be $5500.00. Saturday was a blast we had a Rock & Roll Jam Session that started about 2:oclock and went to way into the night. Along with the Jam Session we hosted the Patriots Appreciation Dinner . The Tri-Tip that they fixed was wonderful. Sunday was another busy day. Joyce & I loaded up about 15 cases of assorted Beer and a selection of hard Booze, mixes, plastic glasses and every thing it takes to set a full bar and moved it to the Salinas Sports Complex. Once there and set up Dina, Joyce and myself hosted the Bar for the third annual Country Music Reunion. We did about $1000.00 for the Post in 5 hours. A lot of work but fun. Once back to the Post and unloaded we settled in to watch the end of the NASCAR race that had a 5 hour rain delay. The big winners were Jim & Margit for $125.00 and 12 points Joyce and I scored a second place for $75.00 and 10 p01nts Dave Clausen made $40.00 as winner of the $1.00 board  The points leaders remain the same. Untill next week every one be carefull and come see us if you have a chance.

I have to apologize  for not posting last week.  lost all of my E-mail Folders containing all of my invoices for the sweepstakes machines and my contacts  with the health department.  $117.00 dollars later I still don't have it fixed. We have had a lot of things going on in the last two weeks. We have had two great free lunches on Thursdays and a lot of fun with our Wham-Bam Bingo.  If you haven't come and played with us you have missed a great time.  Our Queen of Hearts game has climbed to $4,800.00 for Friday Sept. 6th.  I made my first trip to the building dept. to check on a permit to replace our retaining wall.  If you are standing up maybe you should sit down before I tell you what they said. Worst case scenario  $4,200.00.  The whole project should be under $10,000.00.  Joyce  and I have spent two days trying to track down the office of the Army Corps of Engineers hoping to maybe get some help.  Finally we have come up with a contact number.  Will try it this week.  Had a call from Home Depot in Gilroy and will be filling out some papers this week applying for a grant for our building supplies.  Everyone keep your fingers crossed. We hosted the first annual Bike Run to Promote Suicide Prevention of our solders.  Read in the paper that it raised over $3,000.00.  Last Saturday the post hosted a private party, good money on these hall rentals. This weeks NASCAR winners were Wayne for $125.00 and 12 Points, Brant $75.00 and 10 Points.  Larry and Mary won $40.00 ea. on the one dollar boards. Will be having a busy week so everyone keep their fingers  crossed that we get something positive done.
