Well it was a very sad day at the post today. We were informed that the other half of the beloved duo of Jim and Margit passed away from a accident at home. It seems that Jim fell and hurt himself , he did not realize the extent of his injuries, he had ruptured his spleen and had internal bleeding. He will be missed by all the members  Will let everyone know when the services will be held. I submitted the plans to the county with the changes that they requested, they seemed satisfied but had to take a set to the fire dept. Have not heard anything more. I have over half of the required post bases installed. I have got to go buy more Simpsen ties and bolts in order to finish.  Will be having most of the lumber delivered from San Lorenzo Lumber on Thursday morning.  I did  find out that it pays to shop The hardware needed to build the project is about 30% cheaper from White Cap.  I still have one machine down as well as the jukebox, will be calling again tomorrow to see what the holdup is.  The sheriff for Friday night was Heidi. Her choice of envelope's was number 13 which contained the King of Clubs. This weeks reward will be 1,500.00. The weekend was kind of slow but Monday, Memorial Day, was a blast. It started with Victor putting up the flags and Joyce and Karen decorating the hall with very patriotic items. I forgot Doug and Bobbie were there at 6:00 to start the fire and get ready for the BBQ. All hell broke loose when all the people returned from the program at the hill.  The line to kitchen for the free BBQ was steady for over a hour. Doug and Bobbie did a super job, The Prunedale Outlaws keep everybody entertained well into the evening. I want to wish Jack a speedy recovery from a virus that had him in the hospital for over a week.  One more thing, I need any member that has a gas powered weed eater that could volunteer to help clean up the upper part of the property before we get a ticket from the fire dept.

As you can see I didn't make it back on schedule. Time just seems to fly by when you are having fun {ha-ha} When I got the engineering back from the truss Company I got a great surprise. They made changes that added 4 more truss and made them doubled up for a total of 28 pieces. Made another trip to the truss co. after some changes ,making the truss higher, was able to get back to the original truss count. In order for this to happen I had to go back to Seaside and have the changes ok'ed by the engineer. Next step was a trip to the building dept. to attempt to get the permit. Well as you mite figure, not so easy . They now want a site plan, which was given to them with the plans for the wall. also they want drawings of what the finished project will look like. I spent all day drawing some thing that I hope will satisfy them. Had to go to Kinko's and have copies made at the expence of $29.00. Will be at the building Dept. at 8:00 Wish me luck. Not much to report as far as new's during the week. We did have mal-function with the machines but got them fixed. Our juke-box is still down with a blown monitor. Friday's Queen draw went to David Clausen and his pick was envelope #1.To tell you the truth I forgot what card was reveled, but it was not the Queen. This week reward will be $1,300.00. Due to the All-Star race we had no boards this week. There will be a BBQ on Memorial Day starting at about 2 o'clock.

I'm sorry for all you people that been looking for my Blog update. I have been very busy the last week or so. Have made several trips to Seaside to the engineer and finally got the plans.  Once I received them I had several question regarding some of the measurement. I learned that the plans are not exact and can be fudged to make them work. Had to ok the changes with the truss co, again waiting on a response.  We had to go to Home Depot to get some information needed to respond to the Grant Dept. to confirm that we have completed the project that they provided funds for. Ellen and David have been doing  a lot of landscaping, things are looking great. The canteen has been pretty busy thanks to the warm weather. I will be doing some painting and some early set up while waiting on the county to issue the permit. Fridays Queen draw went to Randy, his pick #47 reveling the 7 of Clubs. This weeks reward will be $1,200. After the draw Mambo Wally will be hosting the music for May Birthdays.  Saturday the hall was rented for a celebration of Life for Louie Parker. Saturday nights NASCAR winners were Japanna for $125.00 and 12 points  Deli Bob for $75.00 and 10 points the dollar board winners were Warren and Jeff. I want to wish Ellen a Happy Birthday.  Hope to be back on schedule next week

Well here it is another week shot. I did get the top row of block from the concrete slab to the asphalt filled with concrete and the caps put back on. The county came today and gave me a final on the wall. Went to the truss Co. and paid for the engineering ,will pick up tomorrow. Alex, the Gazabo Engineer, did call today with some questions, at least he is working on the plans. It seems as though we have had a pretty good week in the canteen. Thursday's Wam -Bam Bingo had a additional surprise. I took the 35 leftover envelopes from the Queen of Hearts  and sold them for a dollar ea.  I had recorded the numbers that were on the envelopes and made tags with the numbers on them. I pulled a number from the hat, if you had the matching envelope you opened it. The first one to find a joker won the $35.oo. We did a second round looking for the other Joker. The winner received a 24 carat pen with a retail value of $149.00. Thursday night was our membership meeting and the elections for Officer for 2014 & 2015 Your new elected Officers are Commander  Mike Cabael   1st Vice Bob Schreiber  2nd Vice Shinji Grubbes  Chaplain Pete Quiane  Sgt.@ Arms Warren Hallstead  Judge Advocate  Terry Baughman and 2nd Chair Mike Barnes. Fridays draw for the Queen, worth $1,100 was envelope #31 the 7 of Clubs .The hall was rented Saturday for a 50th Birthday Party. Sunday was one of the best Sundays we had in the canteen in a long time. SAL had there meeting as well as elections. The NASCAR race was a great race with lots of money winners, Chet scored for $500.00 +$40.00 Dennis for $200.00 Mike, from Greens $50.00  Mike H.$50.00 for 3rd place. Robert won $125.00 plus 12 points  Wayne $75.00 Plus 10 points San Jose John won a dollar board for $40.00. Joyce & I got our @20.00 back for finishing 43rd. Hope to have some good news on the permit next week.
