Well its monday again and my turn in the barrel. It all starts with the cleaning of the hall, it usually takes about two hours
Come 9:00 I usually get my first customer. Every other Monday is also liquor order day. Had a big order this week in order to get
through New Years Eve. Later in the day we had a real interesting discussion on one of my favorite topics The " Nu-Wave" oven.
I think some Monday I am going to bring mine down for a cooking demo. Tuesday is Coso shopping day for bar food. While in town
I went by the Post Office and checked out the the rules for Bulk mailing. Later tuesday night i started labeling and folding
the bulk mail letters. Wed. I cut 5 inches off from the metal door and got it ready for the cap. My grandaughter and her boy
friend spent most of the day with us. Had a great Philly Cheese and Fries dinner capped off with a fun night of Karaoke. During
the week we have had some good winners on the sweepstakes machines. Thursday we had a great free lunch and played Wham Bam
Bingo. Joyce was the big winner with three "jackpots". Went to town and picked up the metal cap and the material for the Bar lock
on the door. Friday I finished the mailing, will go out on Wednesday. Friday nights dinner was a hit thanks to Jeanie and
the kitcen crew. The Queen of Hearts drew a great crowd for the 7:00 drawing. Muffy was the lucky person drawn to try and collect
the reward. Well the Queen is still on the loose because Muffy's pick of # 49 revealed the 8 Hearts. Saturday morning early
David Clausen won $100.00 on a pull tab, still have a $250.00 winner with very few tickets left. Speaking of tickets we have
New years Tickets on sale behind the Bar, $20.00 ea. Better get them, they are going fast. David did a repeat and hit the
$250.00 pull tab on Sunday morning. I'm going to have to start issueing him a 1099. Will see evey one next week HAVE A MERRY
CHRISTMAS.

This week has not started out with a bang. Monday I worked, and it was real slow. We did welcome Jim and Margit back from a
little vacation in Southern CA. Tuesday, not much happened, I picked up and repaired 3 bar Stools. Dennis had a good night won a $250.00 pull tab and some money off of the sweepstakes machines. Not telling how much he spent to win, but you can't win if you don't play. Wed. same-o sam-o, dinner by the girls was very good. Started on making the door that we have, fit in the opening where the window is.Have to section out 5 inches and change the swing.Thursday I have a Dr. appointment at @2:00pm so Joyce and Mary did the Bingo. The way it sounds they had a blast. Thursday night we had a Christmas party for the bartenders and other volunteers. Had a great gift exchange and dinner from the Olive Garden. Friday night Mike and the gang fixed a great dinner. sold out the steak and the ribs. The Queen of Hearts was a great hit. Ellen's name and number was drawn, #32 was her pick but the 8 of hearts jumped out not the Queen. Next week the reward increses to $2,600.00. The Jokers are worth $75.00. Sat J.J. came and put the members list in the Computer so that I can print out address lables. In the afternoon the kids had their Christmas party, complete with Mr.and Mrs. Santa Claus. Ellen brought her horses and my favorite her, goat (as well as radar, her dog). The Kids really like the animals Thanks again ELLEN. The private party that was held Saturday night was a lot of fun After their dinner they opened up the Hall so everyone could enjoy the Music. We had a couple of happy campers after they won big bucks on the Donation Stations. Sundays breakfast went on without a hitch as well as the dinner at 5:00pm. The Jam started out a little slow but picked up later in the evening. That's about it for this week. If you're not doing anything during the week, come on down and have a Holiday drink with us. Larry .I really don't know what I am doing with this Blog thing. It is going to be my goal to try and give a reveiw of what happened
during the previous week. Its probably not going to be politically, gramatically or any other way correct, just the facts as I see them. The week so far has been just plain slow. Monday night they came and stripped and re-waxed the floors, they look great. Tuesday we had a little excitment when some guys came in to remove our sweepstakes machines. It seems that they were sent to remove all machines from the VFW posts, at the request of the state commander. We had the right to keep the machines, if we wanted. It was a no brainer. They serviced the machines and were on their way elsewhere. Wed.John had a great dinner. The turn out was lousy because a roomer was out that there would be no more dinners on Wed. nights. Thursday we had a great free lunch and played our WAM BAM Bingo. Thursday was also Joyce's birthday and we had a surprise cake. Thursday night was our monthly meeting, I missed it but understand there were several interesting subjects discussed. Friday ALR provided the dinner. At 7:00 we did our Queen of Hearts drawing. The name drawn was Phil Green the card # was 38. The Queen was not there so the Reward will increase to $2,300.00 for this coming Friday night As A special prize for being present when the reward increases by a thousand dollars he won $100.00. Satuday we had a parking lot sale which was a Dud, can't win them all. Sat. night ALR had their Christmas Party which was a huge sucess. Bobby, Doug and Jeanie did one hell of a job in the kitchen serving over 100 dinners in an hour and a half.Sunday ALR breakfast. Kind of a slow day |
