To start with it's been way to HOT. It was blistering hot on Sat. for the MIA/POW event hosted by the riders, but it was a huge success. The event, if you have never witnessed it, is very emotional. The Rib and Chicken dinner prepared was a great buy for the money. We had nothing special going on Sat night so it was pretty quiet. The regular monthly meeting for the Riders was cancelled on Sunday. The Jam was held on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00. NASCAR had its first race for the chase on Sunday. Our winners were Abel and Roach for first and 12 points. We now have a tie for first place on the first $6.00 board between Able and Wayne. 2nd place went to Ellen and Warren. Ellen has been on a roll this week winning the 50/5o Friday night and again on Sat. plus 2nd on the Race. Mike will be fixing a Turkey dinner with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Stuffing and Yams before Karaoke on Wed. Come hungry. Nothing special going on over the weekend but you all can come on Monday, about 1:00 for free Hot Dogs
I just returned from the Post. Had one of the best steaks ever. Mike and John did an outstanding job. The dinner's that have been provided before Karaoke the last few weeks have been outstanding. You should come down and check it out, and stay and enjoy or participate in the Karaoke. Friday night "Mambo Wally" brought the house down with some great music for Sept. Birthdays. Music this Friday will be provided by "Soul Shake" Saturday A LR will be having a run and then return to the Post for the POW ceremony at 1:00 pm. Again I don't know what happened the post came up empty. We had a awesome turn out for the celebration of life for Wayne on Saturday. There were over 350 signatures on the guest book. I would guess there were at least a 100 more that were in attendance that did not sign. The bartenders sure got a work out. Ellen, Stephanie and Mike Barnes were the one's that made it happen. There are a lot of pictures available to view on the ALR web page. I want to thank the 3 bands that provided their service "McGuffy Rd. Band"," Soul Shake" and "Mombo Wally". We will be having Music by "Retrospect" after dinner on Friday. There was no NASCAR last week so points remain the same We will have a Race this week at Darlington.
