This weeks post will be short and sweet. Not much happenin'. "Mambo Wally" rocked the house on Friday night after dinner for August Birthday's. Saturday nights private party was a no-show. Don't know what why. Sunday's Jam was a success as usual. Our TV in the Gazabo was hanging on the wall where it is suppose to be when I open up for the NASCAR races. This weeks winners were Mike H. and Murphy for $125.00 and 12 points Second place to Mary and Jack . Jack also won the dollar game for $40.00 along with ,I forgot again, man that person should be getting a lot of points. Next Sat will be the celebration of life for Wayne, contact Dan or Mike if you can help or bring a dish
My blog may be a little long this week., but I want to share something that happened to me last Saturday. I'm sure it will upset some people, but is what it is. Saturday I went up to the liqueur store to buy two cases of Corona for the Post. When I put the beer on the counter the clerk made a remark like "Man that going to be a great party" My response was "It's for the Legion" she replied "Oh the Biker Bar down the road" again I said "No the American Legion" This is how the general public see's the Post. Sometimes I also feel that way when our board, consisting of 11 members , and there is only one that doesn't ride a motorcycle. I must say the rest of the membership still does have a say. We had a Club, other than the American Legion Riders, that wanted to have a picture of their club displayed on the wall. After a lot of complaints it was brought to the attention of the Commander and it was removed.
Friday night was the ALR's night in the Kitchen. dinner was great. " Mc Guffy Rd Band" provided the music after dinner. Saturday was the annual "Patriots Fund Raiser" had a great turn out. Like alway's Scott did a great job on the BBQ. The raffle table was full of prizes. All proceeds the Club makes goes to support the Veterans that are in the VA Hospitals. I came in on Sunday morning to open up the TV room and was shocked to see the TV leaning at a 45 degree angle. The lags in the block wall pulled out. We disconnected the TV and sat it on the Floor and continued to watch the Race. Have fixed it so it can not happen again. This weeks NASCAR winners were Larry Ash and Kat for first place Second place went to Tom and I forgot. Mary and Abel won the $1.00 Board We have a tie for first between Wayne and Abel with 111 points each. " Mambo Wally" will be playing Friday night for August Birthdays
There's not much to write about this week. Thursday's Wham-Bam Bingo was a lot of fun and Ron did a great job on lunch. They started the new card game on Friday night but have failed to inform me on how it works. I guess if you want to play you will have to show up on Friday night. There was a mix up on the band that was suppose to play, got "Soul Shake" on short notice, they did a great job. Saturday night "Triple Creek" played. Sunday was another great "Jam". Sunday the riders had a im-promp-tu memorial ride to the Hill in memory of Wayne. On August 29th there will be a celebration of life for Wayne at the Post. Koni had a Dr's appointment Tuesday for her arm. I do not know the results. NASCAR winners were ,of all things, Wayne for $125.00 and 12 points on the second $6.00 game. He is still the points leader on the first $6.00 game. The other $6.00 winner was Murphy. 2nd places went to Joyce and myself and Roach. $1.00 winners were Ashley and Jeff. We will have "Mc'Guffy Rd. Band" on Friday night and NASCAR on Sunday.
